Nilandhoo is one of the 200 local islands in Maldives, situated in Faafu Atoll, 140 km from Male. The population is around 1500 people.
The island is not commercialized at and it makes it attractive. You will meet here only a few tourists interested with a true local life. You can taste the local cuisine, chat with friendly locals, who still live in homes made from coral. Thatch is also visible everywhere.
Nilandhoo has the second-oldest mosque in the country, Aasaari Miskiiy, built during the reign of Sultan Mohammed Ibn Abdullah in year 1153. It is made of dressed stone and decorated with carved woodwork. The stones were recycled from the ruins of earlier, pre-Islamic structures.
Nilandhoo is surrounded with a cristal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. The island offers a long, beautiful and sandy beach, seperated especially for our Guests.
